super hair removal

Definition

The Super Hair Removal or SHR is the most innovative technology for permanent* hair removal. This technology works with unbundled light, contrary to classical laser technologies. Therefore, it is possible to treat a comparably larger body area with one short light impulse. The devices used by us usually work with a wavelength of 690 nm. The applicator has a special anti-glare sapphire glass. The infrared light areas are filtered out through a water filter, to avoid high temperatures. The risk of burning is significantly minimized.

Method

The procedure is fundamentally different from the IPL method. By constantly moving the applicator, it slides over the skin area. This way the skin is evenly heated up to a temperature of up to 45° C. This method protects the skin and has low risk of skin irritation, while at the same time significantly less energy is needed. This method of permanent* hair removal is not only completely painless, but is even perceived as pleasant and relaxing. The technology is based on the permanent* denaturation of proteins, which results in a permanent* hairless skin.

Another difference compared to the IPL laser technology is the transmission of light. The SHR technique uses only half of it via the melanin, making the treatment even more gentle on the skin. The light impulses are absorbed by the stem cells and converted into heat energy. Consequently the hair root gets no nutrients anymore and is destroyed permanently*. During the SHR treatment the laser therapist slides the applicator evenly over the body area to heat hair, skin and stem cells up to 45° Celsius. A prerequisite for the successful and effective destruction of stem cells requires and active combination of hair and hair roots. This is only possible in the anagen-phase. Only this way the hair can transmit the energy of the light to the hair root and the stem cells. The warming denatures the protein of the stem cells. The resulting lack of nutrients causes the hair to fall out.

Important to note

It is recommended to shave the hair on the day before the treatment, this way the skin can recover. However, epilation, waxing or sugaring should be avoided 4 weeks before the start of the treatment. Since those methods of temporary hair removal remove the hair root, the energy of the light cannot be optimally transmitted into the depth. Since hair is only every 4 weeks in the anagen-phase, it is absolutely necessary to follow the treatment cycles of 4 weeks.

Exceptions

Skin areas which are tattooed, cannot be treated. The risk of the colour pigments reacting to the light impulses is possible and can affect the health of the patient. For this reason, such areas are carefully covered.

It is similar with skin pigments such as moles. As these contain more melanin, special caution is required. Therefore we cover such areas with light-repelling cloths and do not treat them.
